Okay I don’t like religious rants on Tumblr…
But the God bashing that I see all the time on Tumblr is getting really old.
I hate the Jesus Christ and God posts on Tumblr and Facebook like the next person and never reblog them, but people aren’t stupid for believing in God. people aren’t stupid for not believing in God either, but.
I feel like Tumblr is constantly judging people for having faith and that bothers me.

I’m sorry….

But if you don’t support same sex marriage, YOU ARE HOMOPHOBIC. Chick Fil A IS HOMOPHOBIC. The people who are waiting miles in line are HOMOPHOBIC. Christianity is NOT an excuse to be homophobic. In the Bible, it says one of the most important rules is to “Love thy neighbor as you love yourself”. If you are willing to support a heterosexual marriage, by not supporting gay marriage, you are going AGAINST Christianity and AGAINST the Bible, because that would not be loving thy neighbor as you love yourself. 

GOD DOES NOT SAY ANYWHERE THAT HE DOES NOT SUPPORT BEING GAY OR GAY MARRIAGE. In fact, NEWSFLASH, homophobic Christians, or “people who don’t support gay marriage”, though there is no difference to me, GOD DIDN’T WRITE THE BIBLE. His followers did. So just because a follower of his was homophobic and wrote a verse for it into the Bible, it becomes some kind of LAW to not support gay marriage?!

Like honestly, anyone who tries to argue against gay marriage with religion can get shot down with just about anything, considering there is no statement written ANYWHERE that is PROVEN to have been written by God that says “I do not want same sex marriage” OR “I condemn gay people”. The oppression changes over the generations. Last generation was obsessed with race. This generation is obsessed with being gay and gay marriage. Like anyone who honestly blindly follows ignorance like that, in any form, does not just “not support gay marriage”. They are homophobic, and blind, and completely ignorant.

As far as I’m concerned, being gay wouldn’t even exist if God was so against it.

Am I the only one that thinks “devoting a Tumblr to God” or the whole “Reblog if God is more important than your Tumblr” is COMPLETELY stupid?

I am Catholic. I support gay rights, I’m incredibly liberal, I consider myself pansexual. But I am Catholic because I freaking believe in God and pray like nobody’s business, and because I was BORN into the religion and culture of it on both sides of my family. And that doesn’t mean I have to agree with everything that is in the Bible. It also doesn’t mean that I think devoting parts of your life to God is necessarily right. I completely respect Atheists, and I think any and all theories about religion are valid. I don’t argue about religion because it doesn’t matter.

And I don’t need to devote my Tumblr to freaking God to know that I believe in him. I don’t need to reblog pointless and quite frankly, snobby and annoying posts about religion and God to confirm that I’m Catholic. I know that I am, because of my faith in God, and because it is the family and heritage I was born into on both sides. 

You can be Catholic, and not flaunt your religion wherever you go.

You can be Catholic, and support gay rights.

You can be Catholic, and have sex before you are married.

You can be Catholic, and be gay, lesbian, bisexual, trangender, or pansexual.

And You can be Catholic and not freaking reblog about God and religion on your Tumblr all the time. Because God doesn’t need any affirmation except blind faith. Reblogging something about him isn’t going to send you to heaven. Being gay or having sex or drinking alcohol isn’t going to send you to hell. 

Being Catholic is about your FAITH and RELATIONSHIP with God, and that’s it. 

I hate religion posts on Tumblr, so I’m done now. But I just wanted to get this out there. Because it has really been pissing me off.

I have to ask.

Faith is and should be determined by how and what YOU believe, right? Not by what is dictated in the Bible or any other book correspondent to a religion of any kind. I am Catholic and don’t believe 85% of the Bible. Doesn’t make me less Catholic than someone else. Because I believe in the key principles of being Catholic, and was born into a Catholic family on both sides. I believe in the body and blood, and I believe in God pretty strongly. But I don’t and never will believe homosexuality is a sin, and don’t and never will believe many parts of the Bible did really happen. Some if it did I’m sure, but a lot of it I think are just urban myths which were twisted overtime to become what they are now.

I have my faith. Faith is defined by what YOU WANT to believe. Not by what someone else tells you to believe.
