Gay Marriage Educated Debate

So, with all the gay marriage circulating around on the Internet right now because of Congress’s decision, I ended up messaging something about it to people who had an anti gay marriage logo of a plus sign, representing the man and woman bonding instead of an equal sign. I found a few people with the same anti marriage logo and sent them something, not really expecting a response. But then I got a response from one of them, and we actually had a highly educated debate about the subject. Because Tumblr is particularly passionate about the issue, I decided to share this conversation with all of you. The conversation started by me sending him the following image:

But if you don’t support same sex marriage, YOU ARE HOMOPHOBIC. Chick Fil A IS HOMOPHOBIC. The people who are waiting miles in line are HOMOPHOBIC. Christianity is NOT an excuse to be homophobic. In the Bible, it says one of the most important rules is to “Love thy neighbor as you love yourself”. If you are willing to support a heterosexual marriage, by not supporting gay marriage, you are going AGAINST Christianity and AGAINST the Bible, because that would not be loving thy neighbor as you love yourself. 

GOD DOES NOT SAY ANYWHERE THAT HE DOES NOT SUPPORT BEING GAY OR GAY MARRIAGE. In fact, NEWSFLASH, homophobic Christians, or “people who don’t support gay marriage”, though there is no difference to me, GOD DIDN’T WRITE THE BIBLE. His followers did. So just because a follower of his was homophobic and wrote a verse for it into the Bible, it becomes some kind of LAW to not support gay marriage?!

Like honestly, anyone who tries to argue against gay marriage with religion can get shot down with just about anything, considering there is no statement written ANYWHERE that is PROVEN to have been written by God that says “I do not want same sex marriage” OR “I condemn gay people”. The oppression changes over the generations. Last generation was obsessed with race. This generation is obsessed with being gay and gay marriage. Like anyone who honestly blindly follows ignorance like that, in any form, does not just “not support gay marriage”. They are homophobic, and blind, and completely ignorant.

As far as I’m concerned, being gay wouldn’t even exist if God was so against it.
